Miter saw blade for metal: material labels are not enough
“Metal” includes aluminum extrusion, mild steel, stainless, coated stock, and mixed assemblies. Those materials need different blades, speeds, chip control, guarding, and often different saws.

Before selecting a blade, identify whether the work is non-ferrous aluminum, copper, brass, ferrous steel, stainless, or a composite assembly. Record wall thickness, shape, coating, and any hidden fasteners. A blade approved for aluminum extrusion is not automatically approved for steel tube.
If the material cannot be identified, do not test it with the saw. Unknown coatings can generate hazardous emissions, and an unexpected steel insert can damage a non-ferrous blade or change the kickback and spark risk.

Round, angled, and hollow profiles can roll, collapse, or catch. Use the clamp and orientation specified for the tool, with stable support level to the table. Do not substitute hand pressure close to the blade or stack small pieces.
Separate the stop system from the offcut path so a short piece cannot wedge. Remove long burrs and sharp edges only after the blade has stopped and the work is safe to handle.
Plan for chips, heat, sparks, and dust separation.
Clear combustible sawdust, solvents, finishes, rags, and batteries from any process that can create heat or sparks. Use eye and face protection and any respiratory or hearing protection required by the tool, material, and workplace.
Do not send hot metal chips into a wood-dust bag or collector unless the equipment maker explicitly approves that mixed use. Cross-contamination can create fire and filter hazards long after the cut appears finished.
